The present is embodied in Hexagram 19 - Lin (Approach): There will be great progress and success, while it will be advantageous to be firmly correct. In the eighth month there will be evil.
The first (bottommost) line, undivided, shows its subject advancing in company with the subject of the second line. Through his firm correctness there will be good fortune.
The second line, undivided, shows it subject advancing in company with the subject of the first line. There will be good fortune. Advancing will be in every way advantageous.
The third line, divided, shows one well pleased to advance, but whose action will be in no way advantageous. If he becomes anxious about it, however, there will be no error.
The situation is shifting, and Yin (the passive feminine force) is gaining ground.

The future is embodied in Hexagram 15 - Ch'ien (Modesty): There is progress and success. The superior man, being humble, will have a good issue to his undertakings.
The things most apparent, those above and in front, are embodied by the upper trigram K'un (Earth), which represents docility and receptivity.
The things least apparent, those below and behind, are embodied by the lower trigram Tui (Lake), which is transforming into Ken (Mountain). As part of this process, joy, pleasure, and attraction are giving way to stillness and obstruction.
