The High Priestess

She wears the Egyptian horned crown of Isis upon her head, with the sun in the center. The crescent moon is below her, and she wears a cross upon her chest. She holds a golden scroll, the Tora, the law of the Ancients. She is between the pillars of the temple, one black and one white. They are marked "B" and "J", between them hangs the sacred veil of the temple, embroidered with palm leaves and pomegranates. She wears gauzy flowing robes, under which is chain-mail made of gold. She represents the house of God and Man. She is the highest and holiest of the Major Arcana, signifying religion and the spiritual life. She smiles the secret smile of those who have attained true spirituality.
